Rick and Morty: Free Rick
Rick and Morty: Free Rick
We recreated season two's final scene as a life-sized photobooth, allowing fans to get locked up in a prisoner pod next to their favorite drunk scientist.
Rick Hits the Road
To keep the Rick and Morty hype train rolling, we crafted an experience for the annual Adult Swim Road Show, but not just for fans at the events, but for those at home as well.
Visit Rick
And we thought there was no better way to keep the fandom alive than by inviting fans to visit Rick himself, in prison.
Not Your Average Earth Camera
The Free Rick Prison Experience recreated the final moments of Season 2 by building life-size Galactic Federation Prisoner Pods, complete with an imprisoned Rick. Two fans at a time could hop in a prison pod next to Rick and get their photo taken. And thanks to our custom written software, we were able to capture individual photos, as well as a panorama shot simultaneously, and immediately print both for fans to take home.
Your Very Own Rap Sheet
Each photo contained a unique code, which led fans to our Galactic Federation Prisoner Database. Once there, fans can enter their code to get a digital copy of their photo, along with their rap sheet and accused intergalactic crimes. Anyone who visits the website can browse through the photos at random, and search for several easter eggs and new bits of information about the show’s lore.
Taking Rick Across the Country
The Prison Experience travelled to ten cities on the Adult Swim Drive-In Tour, then turned back around for a four-day stint at New York Comic Con. Over the course of the entire road trip, we processed over 8,500 prisoners, which meant printing tens of thousands of photos for fans. And thousands more visited our prisoner database website, downloading their photos and hunting down every hidden alien species.
Rick Mecca
Our booth was the talk of New York Comic Con. And the experience became something of a mecca for fans, with cosplayer meetups stopping by to pay respect to their favorite political prisoner.
Rick and Morty Memories
By truly understanding fandom, we were able to craft an experience that fans will talk about for months and years to come. And they’ll even have the criminal record to prove it.
